I would like to thank Liverpool fans for there support, sacking Rafael BenÃtez was not an easy choice to make.
But with so many other more qualified managers available, names such as Roy Hodgson and Ian Dowie to name a few it was clearly time to act.
Our finish last season clearly was not good enough, and whilst Rafael was on holiday we decided to commence a board meeting.
After deciding to release Rafa from his contract, we decided to enact our business plan for LFC's future. This obviously involved a dart board with a random collection of managers.
We all took turn throwing darts, of course George and Tom sadly could not make it. Our first winner was Gareth Southgate, sadly he was coaching a girls u-16 football team and unavailable.
With Joe Kinnear on the golf course we continued to approach a suitable replacement. We are delighted to announce that talks with Iain Dowie are at an advanced stage. Within the next few days we expect to announce him as our manager together with Mark Hughes as his assistant.
Warm regards,
CP
